Interested in learning to play the drums but not sure where to start? Here's a few answers to some question you might have.

Q: Do I have to be a certain age to start playing?
A: No, but I require my students to be at least 10.

Q: Do I have to have previous musical experience to take lessons?
A: Not from me, I teach everyone from beginners who have never touched a drumstick to advanced players who are just trying to improve their technique.

Q: How much does it cost?
A: I charge $30 per half hour for a private, one-on-one lesson.

Q: How soon can I start playing with a band once I start taking lessons?
A: I teach the techniques of drumming, emphasizing the importance of hand-foot coordination. With a steady regimen of lessons and practice, you will build up the proper dexterity and strength in the hands, fingers, arms, wrists, and calves. Just how soon you will be able to start "jamming with the band" is up to you and how much time you are willing to put into practicing.

Q: A drumset has so many pieces to it, is this an expensive instrument to learn?
A: You don't need the best drumset in the world to learn to play the drums. In fact, you don't need a drumset at all to get started. A practice pad, pair of sticks, and a book is all a drum student really needs to begin.
